JAPAN TSUNAMI / EARTHQUAKE

Due to the earthquake and current events in Japan, we have been receiving questions about the origin of our fish. Please rest assured they are all safe.

First of all, our seafood is fished approximately 1000 miles south of epicenter in Sea of Japan. It is entirely a different part of Japan. The water current does not meet. Secondly, we import approximately 20% of our fish through our youngest brother stationed in southern Japan.

The most important thing you should know is before leaving Japan, all of our seafood is first inspected by the Ministry of Health, the Japanese FDA, then when it arrives in San Francisco, USDA inspects our shipment upon arrival at the airport on a daily basis.

Another thing we are also paying close attention to is the status of this situation via the experts. Should anything change to compromise the quality of the fish we import, we will not purchase or serve substandard products.
